" Compensation "
He's about 20''tall
" Patio Bird #1 "
She's about 38 in. tall. Body is
from an old fire extinguisher that had been destroyed in a fire.( I found
this somewhat ironic.) Beak is an old sickle-bar mower point. Tail is an old
garden cultivator. Wings are horse shoe halves. Plumage is barbed wire.
I designed her to be used as a citronella candle for the patio but she could
be used as a planter or.......
She is sold, but I could make another.
It wouldn't have all the same parts but would be a sibling rather than a clone.
" A Young Bull Named Laslo Was Looking Forward To Joining The Greater Brotherhood Of The Herd Until a Passing Cattle Egret Told Him About The Initiation Rites Of The "STEER" Fraternity ."
Yes, thats the title.
Some of my titles get a little " wordy ".
He's owned by a University Of Texas
Alumnus in Tucson, Arizona.
" Tall Dog and Then Some "
He's made of "turned"
wood and several found objects. He currently chases cars in Tucson.
( if he hasn't ben eaten by coyotes )
( sorry he's sold )
" The Teakettle Birds Dilema
"
Composed of a plow disc, a posthole
digger,
3 rakes, a teakettle, a bathtub spout etc. I actually made 4 of these. Each
one was an original and
had its own personality. One is in Los Altos Calif.
one is in San Diego another resides in Phoenix
and the fourth never writes so we have lost touch.
" John (
Hoppin' Good ) Listin "
Memorial Sculpture
"Hoppin' Good" Listin , was a one-legged blues guitar player from
Pascagoula, Mississippi who had an unfortunate penchant
for drinking and playing the blues on the train tracks. He kept losing body
parts until there was nothing left of him. Upon his death in 1939 he was
simultaneously buried in Mississippi, Texas, Georgia and Alabama.
Not really, but I was able to convince people on several blues forums on
the internet of his existence . Several swore they had actually heard recordings
of his unconventional left-hand upside-down picking style.
Most of his parts
are actually circa.1939 or earlier.
6 ft. tall

"Folk
Cloning"
(Cranking Out The Offspring.)
Made from an antique
coffee grinder and springs.
I've always thought of meat grinders and coffee mills as "engines of
change". You put something in one side, turn the handle and something
different but having all the charateristics of the original comes out . It
seems to me that this is the essence of cloning.
